I-80 UPDATES

Property Impacts

State Street to 1300 East

As part of the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) I-80 & I-215 Renewed project, crews will be surveying

land directly north of westbound I-80 between State Street and 1300 East in Salt Lake City to prepare for utility work. See map for impacted area. The team may need to access your property through public utility easements as early as Thursday, Aug 4.

This work will continue for up to three weeks. Residents can expect crews to be on or near the south side of their property.

Following these surveys, crews will return to the area to complete the utility work as early as September 2022.

Eastbound I-80 Lane Shift

1700 East to 2300 East

Crews completed reconstructing the median of I-80 between 1700 East and 2300 East in mid-April 2022. The team will begin the next phase of work in this section, which includes reconstructing the eastbound I-80 lanes.

The eastbound I-80 travel lanes between 1700 East and 2300 East in Salt Lake City will be shifted onto new concrete in the median. This lane shift will give the team space to reconstruct this section of I-80 while keeping traffic moving.

The lane shift is scheduled to begin as early as Sunday, April 24, 2022, and will be in place through fall 2022.

While this work occurs, construction vehicles will frequently enter and exit the work zone from I-80 and I-215. Follow the reduced speed limit and give drivers plenty of room.
