I-80 Ramps

Ramp Closure

Westbound I-80 On-Ramp from 1300 East

The project team will close the westbound I-80 on-ramp from 1300 East in Salt Lake City overnight on Saturday, Dec. 17, from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. while crews pour the bridge deck for the new 1300 East bridge over I-80.

During this closure, drivers can access westbound I-80 from the on-ramp at 700 East.

The project team closed the westbound I-80 on-ramp from 2300 East in Salt Lake City on Oct. 8, to fully reconstruct the ramp. The closure was scheduled to continue through mid-December 2022.

Crews completed reconstruction of the ramp earlier than anticipated. The westbound I-80 on-ramp from 2300 East is now open.

Ramp Reconstruction

The following ramps are currently being reconstructed as part of the project:

  • Westbound I-80 on-ramp from 1300 East

  • Eastbound I-80 on-ramp from 1300 East

  • Eastbound I-80 off-ramp to 2300 East

To reconstruct these ramps, crews will shift traffic to a temporary lane. Then, crews will remove and crush the concrete pavement that is on the existing ramp and replace it with new concrete.

Westbound I-80 On-Ramp From 1300 East

The westbound I-80 on-ramp from1300 East is being reconstructed. Work on this ramp began in mid-June 2021, and crews have since shifted traffic on the ramp and removed and replaced the concrete pavement. Drivers can expect traffic to remain shifted through spring 2023.

Eastbound I-80 On-Ramp From 1300 East

Crews began reconstructing the eastbound I-80 on-ramp from 1300 East in September 2021. Traffic is shifted to the south side of the ramp to accommodate reconstruction of the north side. Traffic will remain shifted through spring 2023.

Eastbound I-80 Off-Ramp to 2300 East
The eastbound I-80 off-ramp to 2300 East is also being reconstructed. Work on this ramp started in fall 2021. Crews have since reconstructed the north side of the ramp. Traffic is currently shifted to the north side of the ramp to accommodate reconstruction of the south side. Traffic will remain shifted through spring 2023.

Drivers can expect uneven pavement on these ramps, including drainage grates. They should use caution in the work zone.

I-215 Ramps

Ramp Closure

Northbound I-215 On-Ramp from 3900 South

Crews closed the northbound I-215 on-ramp from 3900 South in September 2021 to accommodate reconstruction of the ramp. Drivers can expect the ramp to remain closed through spring 2023.

Crews have constructed a temporary northbound I-215 on-ramp located south of the existing ramp, as shown in the map.

Ramp Reconstruction

The following ramps are currently being reconstructed as part of the project:

  • Northbound I-215 off-ramp to 3300 South and 3900 South

  • Southbound I-215 on-ramp from 3300 South

  • Southbound I-215 off-ramp to 4500 South

To reconstruct these ramps, crews will shift traffic to a temporary lane. Then, crews will remove and crush the concrete pavement that is on the existing ramp and replace it with new concrete.

Northbound I-215 Off-Ramp to 3300 South and 3900 South

Work on the northbound I-215 off-ramp to 3300 South and 3900 South ramp began in June 2021.Crews have since shifted traffic on the ramp and removed the existing concrete pavement. Drivers can expect traffic to remain shifted through spring 2023.

Southbound I-215 On-Ramp from 3300 South

In mid-October 2022, the project team began reconstructing the east side of the southbound I-215 on-ramp from 3300 South.

To accommodate this work, the project team shifted traffic to the west side of the ramp. Traffic will remain shifted through spring 2023.

Southbound I-215 Off-Ramp to 4500 South

The project team began reconstructing the east side of the southbound I-215 off-ramp to 4500 South in mid-October 2022.

To accommodate this work, the project team shifted traffic to the west side of the ramp. Traffic will remain shifted through spring 2023.

Drivers can expect uneven pavement on these ramps, including drainage grates. They should use caution in the work zone.

The construction schedule and activities are subject to change.
