Ramp Impacts

I-80 Ramps

Ramp Closures

The eastbound I-80 on-ramp from 1300 East in Salt Lake City will close overnight on Wednesday, June 22, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., for utility work.

During the closures, drivers can access eastbound I-80 from the on-ramp at 700 East, as shown in the map below.

Ramp Reconstruction

The on-ramp from northbound 1300 East to westbound I-80 is being reconstructed. Work on this ramp began in mid-June 2021, and crews have since removed the existing concrete pavement and replaced it with new concrete pavement.

The eastbound I-80 off-ramp to 2300 East is being reconstructed. Before this work began, traffic was shifted to a temporary lane. Crews will then remove and crush the concrete pavement that is on the existing ramp.

This work is expected to last through spring 2022.

I-215 Ramps

Southbound I-215 Ramp Closure

The team will close the southbound I-215 on-ramp from 3900 South from Monday night, June 20, through early August 2022 while crews reconstruct the ramp.

During the ramp closure, drivers can access southbound I-215 from the on-ramps at 3300 South and 4500 South, as shown in the map.

Northbound I-215 Ramp Closure

The northbound I-215 on-ramp from 3900 South will be closed from September 2021 through summer 2022 for reconstruction.

Crews have constructed a temporary northbound I-215 on-ramp located south of the existing ramp, as shown in the map.

New Temporary Right Turn

To accommodate traffic flow, the southbound I-215 off-ramp to 4500 South was restriped to include a dedicated turn lane for drivers turning right onto westbound 4500 South.

Ramp Reconstruction

The northbound I-215 off-ramp to 3300 South and 3900 South is being reconstructed. Work on this ramp began in mid-June 2021, and crews have since removed and crushed the existing concrete pavement on the ramps.

To complete reconstruction, crews will place new concrete pavement on the ramp.

The southbound I-215 on-ramp from 3300 South and the southbound I-215 off-ramp to 4500 South are being reconstructed. In preparation for this work, traffic was shifted to a temporary lane.

Crews have since removed and crushed the existing concrete pavement that was on the ramps. To complete the reconstruction, crews will place new concrete pavement on the ramps.

This work is expected to last through spring 2022.

Ramp Shift

Crews shifted traffic to the west side of the southbound I-215 on-ramp from 3900 to accommodate construction activities. The southbound I-215 on-ramp from 3900 South will remain shifted through spring 2022. Drivers can expect uneven pavement and should use caution.

These activities will increase noise and vibration for nearby properties. Additional impacts include:

  • Shifted traffic

  • Increased dust

  • Overnight lighting

The construction schedule and activities are subject to change.
